Samuel Parker was my grandfather. Born in 1898 in Philadelphia, Sam was known, above all, for his inimitable sense of style. Even as early as high school - while his classmates had the customary mentions of clubs and activities, my grandfather was given an unusual and telling distinction by his high school yearbook: "Sammy...wears the loudest socks". It was not long before my grandfather was able to introduce his superb taste to others.
In 1921, after a stint in the service, Sam opened a small but extraordinary haberdashery - Samuel Parker. It was there that he shared his love of fine clothing, especially elegant neckwear and brightly colored socks.
Today, Samuel Parker Clothier continues the tradition of my grandfather's 1920s haberdashery. Originally opened in the historic Mt. Washington Mill in Baltimore, then relocated to a larger shop in nearby Lake Falls Village, Samuel Parker Clothier offers the finest selection of timeless, traditional men's wear and furnishings.
